Our Rating Philosophy
We built our methodology around one simple question: What would a trader need to know before trusting a platform with their money?
How We Score Each Pillar
Detailed breakdown of every criterion inside each evaluation category
Fees & Costs
We analyze every cost a trader may encounter — visible and hidden — to determine the true cost of trading.
Safety & Regulation
The foundation of any trustworthy broker or exchange. We assess regulatory licensing, fund protection, and operational transparency.
Platform & Tools
We test every platform hands-on — desktop, web, and mobile — evaluating execution quality, features, and overall user experience.
Support & Reputation
We contact support as a real user — testing response times, knowledge quality, and availability across channels.
Our Review Process
Every review follows a rigorous, multi-step workflow designed to eliminate bias and maximize accuracy.
Account Opening & Verification
We register a real account, complete KYC verification, and document the onboarding experience including time-to-approval and document requirements.
Funding & Payment Testing
We test multiple deposit methods (bank transfer, credit card, e-wallet) and record processing times, fees, and minimum amounts.
Live Trading & Execution
We execute trades across different instruments and market conditions, measuring spreads, execution speed, slippage, and platform stability.
Withdrawal Testing
We request withdrawals through various methods and track processing times, fees, and any friction in the process.
Support Evaluation
We contact customer support with real questions via all available channels, rating response time, accuracy, and helpfulness.
Scoring & Publication
All data is compiled, scored against our weighted framework, peer-reviewed by a second analyst, and published with full transparency.
Exchange Review Additions
For crypto exchanges, we evaluate additional criteria specific to digital asset trading.
Security Infrastructure
Cold storage percentage, insurance coverage, 2FA/MFA options, withdrawal whitelisting, and history of security breaches.
Supported Assets
Number of listed cryptocurrencies and trading pairs, plus how quickly new tokens are listed after launch.
Liquidity & Volume
24-hour trading volume, order book depth on major pairs, and spread tightness during high-volatility events.
DeFi & Advanced Features
Staking, lending, launchpad access, NFT marketplace, derivatives, and integration with DeFi protocols.
KYC & Compliance
Verification requirements, geographic restrictions, AML compliance, and regulatory licensing in key jurisdictions.
Methodology FAQ
Can brokers or exchanges pay for better scores?
No. Our scoring system is entirely based on objective evaluation criteria applied consistently across every platform we review. Brokers and exchanges cannot purchase higher ratings, preferential placement, or modified review outcomes. While Traderbbs earns revenue through affiliate partnerships, these commercial relationships are managed separately from our editorial process. The analysts who conduct evaluations and assign scores have no visibility into or involvement with our commercial agreements. This structural separation ensures that financial incentives never influence the integrity of our ratings.
How often are reviews updated?
Reviews are updated whenever a material change occurs that affects the user experience or safety assessment. This includes fee structure modifications, regulatory status changes, platform redesigns, security incidents, or significant shifts in public reputation. Beyond event-driven updates, we conduct a full re-evaluation of each reviewed platform at least once per year. Every update is timestamped so readers can verify when the information was last confirmed. If a platform undergoes a major change between scheduled reviews, we prioritize an expedited reassessment to keep our data current.
Do you test platforms with real money?
Yes. Every platform we review is tested with a real funded account. We go through the full user journey — registration, identity verification, depositing funds through multiple payment methods, executing trades across different instruments, and withdrawing profits. This hands-on approach allows us to identify issues that cannot be discovered through documentation review alone, such as hidden fees during withdrawal, unexpected slippage during volatile markets, or delays in customer support response times. Screenshots and transaction records are maintained internally as part of our review documentation.
What factors impact the Trust Score the most?
Safety and Regulation carries the highest weight in our scoring model at 30%, reflecting our belief that capital protection is the most fundamental requirement for any trading platform. A broker or exchange with weak regulatory standing or questionable security practices will receive a lower overall score regardless of how competitive its fees or how polished its platform may be. After safety, Fees and Platform Quality each contribute 25%, followed by Customer Support and Reputation at 20%. This weighting ensures that the Trust Score accurately prioritizes what matters most to traders.
