Starting a Diet in March?
You'll have plenty of company if you start the new diet regime now. One survey finds that March is the biggest month to diet, not January.
Why March? Because it's closer to June -?the swimsuit season!
So, if you want to get back on track and shape up for summer, here are some tips to help you on your way:
Be Fashion Forward:
If you have a favourite summer outfit that you look forward to fitting into, move this to the front of your wardrobe so you'll see it everyday. Little reminders like this will help you stay motivated to eat healthily and exercise.
Start Small:
You don't have to completely overhaul your eating habits to see results. Find some small changes you can live with, like decreasing your portion size, eating five servings of fruit and vegetables or having dessert three times a week instead of every night.
Go slow and steady
Aim to get some exercise almost everyday, and get you heart rate up, but don't push yourself too hard at first. If you start slowly and gradually increse the length and intensity of your workout, you'll build a solid foundation that will keep you active in the long run. |
